Race1 USA is proud the introduce the Wave Cutter from Race1 in Australia. The Wave Cutter is new, affordable, training scull designed to meet the needs of novice rowers. It was introduced at the Australian rowing championships and World Cup 1 in March, 2014. Since that time, it has generated a great deal of interest in Australia and South East Asia.
No longer will your learn to row and modified scullers have to suffer the abuse of ancient, heavy, ill-fitted ‘ocean shells’, or be relegated to equally dilapidated, coxed quads. Instead, they can take their first apprehensive strokes in stable yet responsive, virtually unbreakable sculls with quality fittings and plenty of adjustment. They will be able to move into your racing fleet AFTER they have learned the skills and gained confidence.
The scull is equally at home at the lake cabin, on the estuary or the bay. At 19 feet and under 45 lbs fully rigged, it is easy to car top. Experienced scullers will find plenty to like early or late in the season, or on open water. Daniel Noonan, the stroke of the Australian Olympic quad, has taken one outside the heads on Sydney Harbour!
The HDPE hull features a self draining cockpit (similar to coastal competition shells) and plenty of volume in the bow to handle more difficult conditions. It is fitted with a quick attach aluminum wing rigger, a clog style foot stretcher with standard adjustment (no clumsy J bolt clamp) and a padded double action sliding seat. There is even a kit bag under the hatch for your car keys.
